25th years ago Phaung Daw Oo monastic education school was established by the two brothers, Ven Nayaka and Ven Jotika. During eight years times the school has been developed from primary to high school level: In 1993 Primary, In 1998 Secondary, In 2000 High School.

The program will take 9-months of full-time study and students are generally required to take all the courses offered. Specifically, the course will cover philosophy in education, educational theories, instructional strategies, assessment and evaluation, educational management and technology in education. Students are also needed to do service-teaching for six weeks in Phaung Daw Oo after the 9-month program.
It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
