25th years ago Phaung Daw Oo monastic education school was established by the two brothers, Ven Nayaka and Ven Jotika. During eight years times the school has been developed from primary to high school level: In 1993 Primary, In 1998 Secondary, In 2000 High School.

Phaung Daw Oo International University (PIU) provides a Bachelor of Arts degree program in Pāli and Sanskrit Language and Literature in collaboration with the International Buddhist College (IBC), Thailand. Under this program, students from Myanmar will attend the first two years at PIU in Myanmar and another two years at IBC in Thailand. The program requires to fulfill 120 credit units in 8 semester in which the students will be able to explore insightful knowledge of Buddhism and its traditions from different schools.
It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
